Jubilee of Church (Parish) Leaders

A. RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES

  1. On the Jubilee Year 2025, it is but proper that the first archdiocesan activity (after the formal opening) is the JUBILEE OF PARISH LEADERS since they are at the forefront of the church activities in the Archdiocese of Palo.  There are other Jubilee celebrations for other ministries and church groups within the course of the Jubilee Year.
  2. This is primarily a gathering of the archbishop with his clergy, seminarians and lay representatives of the various territorial configurations in the Archdiocese of Palo (members of the PPC, PFC, parish ministers, BEC leaders) who have been serving their respective parishes, mission stations, chaplaincies or mission areas.  This is therefore an occasion for the archbishop to meet, encourage and pray with the parish leaders.
  3. The Jubilee of Parish Leaders is also a get-together primarily in prayer (through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist) of the various church ministers as an act of affirmation in the ministry and a supplication or intercession for one another before God to renew each other’s commitment to share the faith and give hope to people through the various ministries they hold in their respective communities. 
  4. Since the date coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Visit of Pope Francis to the Archdiocese of Palo, this is an occasion to thank God for the papal visit and for the inspiration and help he has given to the Filipino people, specifically the faithful of the Archdiocese of Palo; likewise, since the Holy Father came to reassure the victims of typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda, this also an occasion to pray for the victims whose lives have been taken away and entrust once again our communities to God through the intercession of Our Lady of Hope of Palo.
