The Pastoral Action Secretariat is advising the clergy to take into consideration the following:
- Since religious gatherings (like our masses with the participation of the faithful) are still not officially sanctioned by the IATF (but only tolerated by LGUs), we have to REFRAIN from sharing or posting them in social media. This way we will not embarrass our LGUs and ourselves (RCAP) if these are seen by others who have a different view on these activities.
- In masses that are shared via live streaming, the camera should only be focused on the main celebrant and the altar. There should also be NO POSTING OF PICTURES of those who may legitimately take part in the celebration (camera crew, principal sponsors/hermanos, choir, altar servers, etc) before or after the celebration.
- Pictures or videos of celebrations may be taken but should never be posted at this time. Please advise those who participate in our fiesta masses to abide by a NO POSTING POLICY in social media. Videos or still pictures may be needed to complement written documentation of the attendees for the purposes of CONTACT TRACING (in case somebody in the community turns positive for Covid 19).
- Communications from the Chancery which are addressed to the priests ONLY are meant for priests. So, if you happen to ask your secretary or a seminarian or whomever to print them kindly remind them NOT TO SHARE THEM to others (especially using social media).
- UPDATE your Parish Profile in our Website. This will ease the struggle of our parishioners in contacting us because of quarantine protocols. In this new normal, the website will also share knowledge about the parish itself which can be useful now and in the future. To check your parish status in our website, visit: https://archdioceseofpalo.org/contactaparish
WHEN IT COMES TO SOCIAL MEDIA, WE HAVE TO BE VERY DISCREET AT THIS TIME.
