TACLOBAN City, Dec. 22, 2014 — Identifying the media as collaborators of the Roman Catholic Church in ensuring the success of the papal visit in the Palo Archbishop John Du called on the members of the local media to be “the voice of mercy and compassion”.
A church official from Leyte on Tuesday asked those that will flock in Tacloban and Palo for Pope Francis’ visit to “ready themselves” for the large crowds that they will face.
MAY Almighty God be praised! The news confirming the Holy Father’s coming in January fills us with gratitude to God who has given us this very special favor. The decision of Pope Francis to come to the Philippines, and especially to visit the Archdiocese of Palo to show solidarity with the victims of the Yolanda catastrophe was very unexpected, but is also very much welcome.
The Vatican formally announced the Papal Visit schedule, 14 November 2014.
